About Department
Department of Zoology, Holy Cross College, Agartala
started its journey in the year 2012. The aim of the department is to prepare
students who are conscious about their responsibilities towards nature, skilled
to preserve nature, sustain wildlife and to equip students with comprehensive
knowledge, foster a passion for learning and research, and offer practical,
hands-on experiences in the field.
The
department offers its students a better practical understanding while studying
the various organisms. The department has a plethora of preserved specimens displaying
an array of unique features. Studying
Zoology allows students to dive deep into understanding the natural world and
explore how they can contribute to conservation efforts. The department of Zoology
has ample scope of experiential learning along with problem solving courses and
also provide scope for participative learning.
Zoologists dedicate their work to a
variety of animal species, examining their origins, evolution, structural
diversity, diseases, life cycles, and behaviours. With the
combination of optimized theoretical and practical knowledge, our students have
shown excellent results under Tripura University along with the alumni well
settled pursuing higher education or achieving professional advancement.
Students can opt for various
careers in the field of Zoology like Marine Biologist , Zookeeper, Academic
researcher, Animal nutritionist ,Science writer, Environmental Manager, Environmental
Scientist, Ecologist, Forest officer, Wildlife biologist, Zoologist, Animal
physiotherapist, Faculty positions, Conservation Officer, Conservationist, Field
trials officer, Entomologist, Fisheries Officer, Indian Forest Services, Laboratory
Assistant, Marine scientist, Wildlife organisations and entrepreneurs.
